Some call it the Oscars of the East; some call it fashion prom. Whatever you call it, one thing's for sure: This year's punk-themed Met Gala is sure to be way edgier than usual. I'm holding my breath to see what kinds of fashion anarchy turns up on Monday's red carpet. What will co-chairs Beyonce and Rooney Mara wear? What will Anna Wintour wear?! I really want someone to reprise Elizabeth Hurley's Versace safety-pin dress from 1994. Even if that doesn't happen, I'm pretty sure the exhibit (which has the best name ever by the way—Punk: Chaos to Couture) will inspire plenty of style rebellion in everyone's everyday wardrobes over the next few months anyway. (In fact, some designers' fall 2013 runways were already tinged with punk references.) In celebration of all that, here are seven essentials that will instantly punk-ify any look.
