IMG_8549_Well-agatized whale-bone teardrop cabochon

By A Mystery Man Writer

This cabochon was cut from an old-stock piece of whalebone that I got as part of an old collection. It originates from material found during the expansion of the Morgan Hill water treatment plant. It has pretty distinct cell structure for California whale-bone, and being well-agatized, it takes an excellent polish. You will want to view this at "Original" resolution. Trust Me. Incidentally, this is upload number 2000 for me.
