<p>Funeral services for Larry Paul “Buck” Buchanan, age 79, of Lineville will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Bro. Ricky Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Clay County Memory Gardens.</p><p>Mr. Buchanan was born in Clay County Alabama and lived here all of his life. He graduated from Lineville High School in 1961 then went to trade school in Gadsden. He then entered the military in 1965 when he was drafted and spent 2 years in Germany. After he left the military, he attended and graduated Southern Union, and then attended Jacksonville State University for one year. Mr. Buchanan worked for 23 years at Kimberly Clark as a Maintenance Operations Worker in the Forrest Products industry. In his spare time he loved to play softball, fish, hunt, mud ride, tinkering with cars, but most of all he loved to laugh and spend time with his wife of 54 years and his family. He was a Deacon and Elder at Campbell Springs, he also led Sunday school and ran a Bible study group.</p><p>Mr. Buchanan is survived by his wife of almost 55, Alma Buchanan; his daughter Paula Buchanan; his son Jason Buchanan (Michelle); his grandchildren, Katie and Sam Buchanan, all of Lineville; his sisters, Elaine Watts (Mike) of Lineville and Susan Harris of Ashland; nieces and nephews and a large extended family.</p><p>He is preceded in death by his parents: Curtis and Ruth Patterson Buchanan, and one sister, Beth Buchanan.</p><p>Active Pallbearers will be Sam Buchanan, Rick Roberts, Ricky Black, Randy Watts, Neil Watts, Joshua Seals, Ryan Seals, and Randall Crane.</p><p>Honorary Pallbearers will be his nephews, Bobby Pettus, Roy Adamson, Ricky Pinkston, and Johnny Compton.</p><p>His visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M.</p><p>Send online condolences to </p><p>Benefield Funeral Home of Ashland is in charge of the arrangements.</p><p><br></p>
